Negative Curvature

This abstract sculpture, which has three-fold rotational symmetry as well as mirror symmetry, is evocative of plant forms. It's based on a spatial development of the Sierpinski Arrowhead fractal curve through the first three iterations. An effort was made to maintain negative curvature at every point, a hallmark of hyperbolic surfaces embedded in Euclidean three-dimensional space. The sculpture measures a little over 12" in height.
