Mitosis
"Mitosis" is painted on two merged spheres, one 16" in diameter and the other 12" in diameter. Mitosis is the process of cell division. One can imagine the smaller sphere splitting away from the larger one. "Mitosis" also evokes two joined soap bubbles. It depicts a fanciful world of geometric constructions, people, trees, and bubbles. The work was completed in 1982.
Acrylic painted sphere. Price, $6300 + S&H (includes motor for rotation).
